Bali Guide | Rama Gardens Hotel,

Return to the Bali Guide

Situated in Jl Padma, near the corner of JL Sahadewa, this hotel is fairly old altho the restaurant and bar area has recently been upgraded and looks good.

Rooms are very small and pokey, and the pool, while of reasonable size, is very cold due to no sunlight for many hours a day.At night it is almost impossible to bear the cold, even on a hot night.

Breakfast is American, and often prepared by junior staff, we feel as a punishment sometimes, with the result that it is below par for what type of hotel this is.

Staff are friendly, especially security and bar staff, and they have entertainment every night in the main restaurant.

During football season (AFL) games are shown in the main bar with high prices as many Aussies gather there to watch and make a lot of noise.

Best not to dine there when the football is on, as it attracts a definite yobbo element at that time.

Food at the restaurant is good, altho very pricey for what it is.There are far better places to eat within 100 metres, that do not attract ++ taxes and charges which make eating here quite expensive.

Fresh seafood is on display daily.

Price of rooms has skyrocketed in the last year or so.

At US$ 100 a night at the time we were there, it is overpriced and hard to recommend.Generally it is around $30 a night dearer than similar properties and the rooms are looking very tired and old.

The poor rating takes into account the price and state of rooms rather than the atmosphere which is quite good. The new renovations are excellent and has given the front area a great look from the street.

There is no parking for guests...even a bike has trouble being parked nearby.
